Because of the results of my research and in particular, my article, "Stasis Theory Revisited," she rewrote this chapter to include much of the theory that appeared in the article. In fact, in the preface of the text, she wrote, "I wish to recognize Kathryn Raign, whose work on stasis theory changed the direction of this book.").
